On Windows, when I register a FireRender service via the Service Manager, fire appears to start but then locks up. What am I doing wrong ?
Fire is an interactive process. When used as a FireRender service kicked off by the Service Manager, it runs under the control of an agent. If this agent is installed as a Windows NT service, it must be told to enable interactive programs. This can be done while the agent is running by opening up the NT Services panel (Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services), right clicking on the agent service, selecting Properties, clicking the Log On tab, and making sure the “Allow service to interact with desktop” option is checked. An alternative is to install the agent with the interactive option set to true, e.g.
