Our community organisation wants to hold a gala day, how can we organise this?
There are a number of issues to consider in terms of organising a gala day, and it is a good idea to start planning as early as possible. There are key people your organisation should talk to, such as local people, the police, first aid providers, the local authority, other local organisations and businesses and suppliers. In terms of funding for your event, Fife Council’s Community Awards scheme has a specific programme for Community Events, and you may be able to cover part of your costs by applying to this funding stream. Again the key factor in organising a successful event is to plan well in advance, and work out all of the costs that have to be covered and how they will be met.
