First let’s understand how photo geotagging works. Every photo-file contains inside time when it was taken by photo camera. Every point of GPSed track contains coordinates and also time when it was recorded by GPSed mobile application or other GPS software. So to determine geo-position of photo, attaching wizard takes time when the photo was taken and looks for a point of GPSed track with the same time. After that photo pins to a map to this point of the track. If time on your photo camera was set in a different time zone or simply adjusted incorrectly, photo may be pinned to a map inaccurate or not pinned at all. So GPSed attaching wizard requires current date and time on photo camera to calculate possible offset automatically.
