Are you being serious? If you get plastered then it can take up to 24 hours before the alcohol in your system has decreased to the legal driving limit. In other words – it will definitely not be legal for you to drive. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a lesson, the test or even driving after you’ve passed. This is just the way that the bio-chemistry of humans work and nobody is “tough” enough to by-pass this. In fact it would be very stupid to drink like that and drive the following day because if you did have even a minor shunt you will almost certainly be breathalysed and show up as over the limit. Then you will get fined and a ban and a record for drunk driving which will push your insurance costs through the roof. If your instructor suspects that you are hungover or still smell of booze on your breath he would be entitled to refuse to get in the car with you and you would not get your lesson – but you would still have to pay for it because you would be the one “defaulting”.
