What age should a child have 1st dentist visit?

It is generally recommended to have a child visit the dentist by either the first tooth eruption or age whichever comes first. Generally, that first visit revolves around showing the child around the office introducing them to everything in the office including the people and the chair. It will also include dental hygiene instructions for parents as well as answering any questions they might have. I am a big believer in having a child come in to visit early and often. It takes the unknown out of it and makes future dental visits that much easier.

my granddaughter was 18 months when she had her first invite visit to the dentist, its just to get them used to it and they get a toothbrush and paste, she has been for her 2nd visit but wont open her mouth to let them look at her teeth.
