The prostate is a gland found only in men that sits just below the bladder. When you pass urine it flows through a tube (urethra) and out through the penis. The urethra passes through the prostate and this is why some men have problems passing urine when they have an enlarged prostate. Fluid produced by the prostate forms part of semen and may help nourish sperm. What are the symptoms of BPH?
A. The prostate gland is only present in men, forming part of the male reproductive system. It’s function is to add nutrients to the seminal fluid on ejaculation, to help the sperm cells survive.
