The Trusted Computing Platform Alliance, or TCPA, is an initiative led by Intel that provides for a monitoring component–a “smart chip”– to be mounted in the motherboards of PCs. Palladium, the Microsoft equivalent, builds on TCPA hardware and will be installed on future versions of Windows.
