For years I’ve heard friends of mine rave about the glory of the Wilson County Fair. My past experiences with county fairs have been mediocre at best, so I admit I was a bit skeptical. I decided to check out the Wilson County Fair this year. Afterall, it’s my job now to be out and about around town in order to let you know, dear readers, whether happenings are worth your family’s hard-earned dollars. The fair is located at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center, 945 Baddour Pkwy. in Lebanon. Gates open Mon – Fri 5 p.m., Sat 12 p.m. and Sun 1 p.m. Admission is $6 adults, $3 ages 6 – 12, free ages 5 and younger. Tickets for rides are separate. Rides require two to four tickets at $1 a pop. So, if rides are in the mix with your family, your best bet is to purchase armbands that offer unlimited rides. Armbands vary in price from $14 – $18 per person depending on the day you visit. For more info, call 443-2626 or visit wilsoncountyfair.net
