What exams are required for Pro Tools Expert Certification?
The Exert Exam process is split into three different exams: • Online Exam – 50 questions, multiple-choice. This exam is created and administered by Digidesign. This exam is similar to the Operator Exam but more difficult. Est. time for completion is 1 hour. • Keyboard & Control Surface Hands-On Exam – Tests your ability to use keyboard shortcuts and the ICON control surface with Pro Tools. The Exam in broken down into two sections: 1) Keyboard shortcuts and modifiers, and 2) Control surface functionality: routing, focusing, arming parameters for automation, writing automation, among other things. Est. time = 1.5 hours. • Practical Exam – Tests your ability to work under pressure in a real world session. This exam is split into four modules: 1) Session setup, 2) Editing, 3) Mixing, 4) Layback and Archive. Est. time = 2.0 hours. You must complete the online test before attempting either of the practical exams.
