What happens during a session?
In brief the therapist will ask you some questions and you will fill out a full medical history form. Next, you will be asked to remove your clothing. The therapist will either leave the room or otherwise provide privacy while you undress and comfortably situate yourself on the massage table under a sheet or towel that is provided for draping during the massage. The massage therapist will tell you what position to lie in on the table. Expect a peaceful and comfortable environment for the massage. The massage therapist may play music during the massage.
You can expect your therapist to arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time to set up and go over the specifics of your massage session. During that time you will be asked how you are feeling and if there is anything in your medical history that they need to know about. The therapist will step out of the room and allow you time to get undressed to your comfort level and onto the table. You will be draped with a sheet for the entire massage and only the area that is currently being worked on will be uncovered. If you are doing a fully clothed treatment then draping will not be necessary but will be provided if asked. Periodically you will be asked about pressure but if you experience discomfort at any time tell the therapist immediately. When the session is over, the therapist will leave the room again and wait for you to get up and get dressed. Once you are dressed, after care instructions will be given and if you would like to rebook we will schedule you accordingly.
You will lie face up on a massage table and relax. The practitioner will place their hand on your body and set up the neuromuscular feedback of yes/no answers. The practitioner will then ask your innate wisdom a series of questions following the BodyTalk protocol. The practitioner may or may not speak out loud while asking. Once your body/mind indicates the priority areas (links), you and the practitioner will place your hands on those areas. The practitioner will then tap lightly on your head to let the brain know what to repair and then tap lightly on your heart complex to store the information and carry it to the rest of the body. At the end of the session, the practitioner will ask if and when a next session is indicated and discuss the findings with you, so you can book the next appointment if indicated.
