What is a HUBZone, and what are the benefits of locating my business in one?
( Top ) The HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) program is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The goal is to stimulate economic development and create jobs in impoverished urban and rural communities by using federal purchasing preferences. Businesses that are located in a HUBZone and employ staff who live there can apply for HUBZone certification. Once certified, they are eligible for preferences in certain federal procurements. HUBZones are identified by census tract, and can be found at the U.S. Small Business Administration’s HUBZone website.
