What is a storm drain and where does it lead?
When it rains, water flows down streets into storm drains, which are part of a District-owned and maintained network of gutters, catch basins, manholes, underground pipes, and pump stations that carry the storm runoff into the San Francisco Bay. Storm runoff does not get treated at the wastewater treatment plant, instead it flows directly to the Bay.
