What is better intel or amd processors?
It used to be a case of “don’t buy anything other than Intel or your PC will become obselete”. Nowadays AMD often actually beat Intel to the next generation of processors so it’s not the case any more. It makes no difference that any normal user would notice. Normally PC’s with an AMD processor are cheaper so go for AMD and maybe invest in more memory and better graphics or whatever.
This question always boils the blood of the fan boys and PC elite. The bottom line is that they both offer solutions that people use. I personally use AMD, but right now if you want a high end gaming capable multimedia powerhouse, the Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors are offering the highest performance across the board. AMD’s new Quad Core processors, the Phenom, offer quad core performance at prices that are a bit lower than Intel (but are “slower” than Intel). You have to find one in a package that will suit you (what does the computer offer that you like? then pick a processor that fits in your budget). Most users will not need the high end processing power that the expensive CPUs offer.
Out-of-the box, either will be about as fast as its price suggests. However, the Intels absolutely crush AMD when it comes to overclocking. Some Intel CPUs can be clocked more than double their stock speed on air cooling. There can even be major overclocking on the stock cooler (aka FREE SPEED) These days, most PC enthusiasts who build their own PCs for maximum performance use Intel’s because of this. There’s nothing wrong with AMD, but these days Intels run faster and cooler. Either one will do a GREAT job of regular office, internet, etc that everyone does.
