What is Cloning?
Cloning is a procedure where the genetic material (DNA) of an individual is taken from an adult cell (for example, a skin cell) and then transferred into an oocyte (an egg). Before the adult cell DNA is placed into the egg, the scientist removes the egg’s existing DNA. Thus, after the adult DNA is transferred into the egg, the new egg has the DNA of the skin cell. To put what would occur in perspective, if the skin cell is from Mr. Jones and the egg is from Ms. Smith, the egg is now converted into the DNA blueprint of Mr. Jones. The eggs are then treated chemically in the dish to develop into clones (exact replicas) of embryonic stem cells.
As described in the previous question, cloning is when one or multiple users connect to an IRC network from the same IP address. This can often happen without your knowledge if you’re connecting from work or going through a transparent proxy of some sort. If you are being disconnected from Blabber.net with the error message “Session limit exceeded” it is because there are too many clones from your IP address connected at the time. If you’re not sure how to resolve this, please speak to an IRC Operator in #blabber or mail us on admin@blabber.net.
Cloning is an assisted reproductive technology that allows livestock breeders to create identical twins of their best animals. This breeding technique does not change the genetic make-up of the animal. The most common cloning procedure today is known as somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), which makes it possible to produce many animals from a single donor. SCNT involves transferring the genetic information from one animal into an empty oocyte, or egg. This process results in an embryo, which is implanted into a surrogate mother, just as in standard embryo transfer, who carries the pregnancy to term.
This feature allows the frequencies of one BC245XLT to be copied into another. In other words, you make a “clone” of a BC245XLT. To perform this operation, you’ll need two BC245XLTs, each radio’s interface cable and a null modem adapter. When the null modem adapter is purchased (from most large electronic and computer stores), be sure to pay attention to the gender of the connections so that all the connections mate properly.
