Essex County Council will not be using mass burn incineration (the burning of unsorted, untreated mixed waste, or ‘black bag’ waste) as a means to dispose of municipal waste in the county. Instead we will be delivering a high recycling and bio treatment policy, as set out in the Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy for Essex.
