What Is Expressionistic Lighting?

“Hi, I’m Rebecca Guenther, with www.M5A1photography.com, and I’m going to talk to you about what expressionistic lighting is. Now, expressionistic lighting is when you want to experiment with your lights a little bit more. There’s no set in stone rules on how you do it, or where the lights go. It’s pretty much whatever you want to do. The important thing here is to show different emotions. If you are photographing, for example, a dream sequence you might only have one harsh light coming from below to have a scary sort of look, or perhaps you might put the light behind the person just to get a silhouette of them. And with this, it’s pretty much whatever your imagination says that’s what you can try.
