What is Fantasy Football ?
Fantasy Football gives you the opportunity to run your own team of professional football players. You draft your team of the best players from across the NFL and receive points based on those players’ performance in NFL games each week of football season. You set weekly lineups, propose, accept and reject trades, sign free agents, and compete against other teams in your league. If you have a group of friends you can form your own league using Football Commissioner. You can also join one of our existing Fantasy Football 2003 football leagues.
Fantasy football is a great way to follow NFL action while also competing with your family, friends, family, co-workers or even strangers for football bragging rights. You field a team of real NFL players and accumulate points based on their actual game statistics. Scoring systems and competitive formats vary from site to site and league to league, but the ultimate objective is to field the best team based on players stats.

In the game of fantasy football, participants use the statistics of real football players and teams to compete against one another in a season of their own. There are many different ways that the game can be played, and a great variety of rules that govern how different leagues conduct their competition. The first known fantasy football game was created by a man named Wilfred “Bill” Winkenbach in 1962. He and several others created an eight-team league in which players drafted real football players from the AFL for their fantasy team. The “owners” from the eight teams would choose a limited number of football players from their rosters to compete head-to-head each week.
