What is Mennonite?
Since the 1920’s, furniture made by Mennonite families has been highly sought after for the creative designs and quality construction. The word Mennonite is commonly used to describe a religious group of people that practice a lifestyle without the use of modern technology. Some Mennonites may reject the use of electricity or the use of motor vehicles. Other Mennonites have evolved to accept and use certain modern technologies. Our furniture builders range from the Old Order Mennonite to the Modern or Conservative Mennonite. This is a brief and simplified description of a more complex and intriguing way of life.
