What is Milestone (Hybridized Portland Cement)?

The technology for Milestone Hybridized Portland Cement has been used for years. It was invented in 1980 by Don Miles, a Seattle plasterer. It is comprised of a three coat application process for polymer modified cement products. Each component is designed expressly to work together as a complete unit. This results in an extremely durable coating and one that becomes an integral part of the concrete surface both chemically and mechanically. It is highly resistant to most stains, chemicals, salts, fungi and UV deterioration. Furthermore, the polymer resins add an element of flexibility which allows the overlay material to move somewhat with the concrete substrate, substantially decreasing the chances of de-lamination in extreme climates. The other products we use, Texston, Skimstone and Synergy are variations on this same technology.
