What is physiotherapy?
A very concise description would include that:- Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession especially concerned with function and movement and thereby optimising potential. Animals, like people, respond to physiotherapy. In 1985, The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT) formed. This is a specialist group of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy where Category A members are recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to lawfully treat veterinary referred animals. The title ‘Chartered Physiotherapist’ is protected by law and can only be used by physiotherapists who have achieved a high level of academic and practical training in all aspects of physiotherapy and are consequently qualified and trained to practice. All Chartered Physiotherapists have the qualification of MCSP (Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) after their names.
Physiotherapy is the health care profession dedicated to restoring and enhancing motion and fitness, and diminishing pain that limits activity. Physiotherapy treatment includes manual therapy (mobilizations and manipulations) to improve joint and soft tissue mobility; modalities like ultrasound and electrical stimulation that reduce inflammation, swelling, and pain; acupuncture for pain control; and therapeutic exercise designed to improve flexibility, strength, and well-being. The physiotherapists at Active Life Physiotherapy & Massage Clinic are university educated, experienced, and knowledgeable, and are licenced by the NS College of Physiotherapists. Physiotherapy assessments are $50. and follow-up appointments are $43.
Physiotherapy uses a variety of techniques to help your muscles and joints work to their full potential. It can help repair damage by speeding up the healing process and reducing pain and stiffness. Physiotherapists also have an important role in rehabilitation, for example, helping people who have had strokes to relearn basic movements. However, physiotherapists don’t just offer treatment, their advice can help you prevent problems returning or even happening in the first place.
Physiotherapy, or Physical Therapy, is a HealthCare profession concerned with the assessment, maintenance, and restoration of the physical function and performance of the body. It is a distinct form of care which can be performed both in isolation or in conjunction with other types of medical management. Used in conjunction with certain medical or surgical techniques, physiotherapy can complement these techniques to help provide a speedy and complication-free return to normal activity.
