What is ResNet?
ResNet is a data, voice, and video network installed in all Student Housing facilities. ResNet provides dedicated high speed Internet and UC Davis network access as well as basic cable television service to all Student Housing residents. This means you have 24hour Internet access and fast download times. ResNet provides a data port for each of our student residents, so there’s no waiting. ResNet video services offer the most popular entertainment, educational, and network cable stations. Student Housing also operates four internal stations where student generated programming, University information, movies, and education materials will be presented. Access requires a network ready computer and/or a cable-ready television.
NYU ResNet (short for Residential Networking) provides in-room Ethernet connections to NYUHome, email, and Internet services from most NYU residence halls. It is an alternative to using a modem, keeping your phone line free. To begin using ResNet, you need to meet certain hardware and software requirements and then follow the configuration instructions available in the ITS Guide to Telephone Services & ResNet (visit the ITS Publications website to download a copy).
The University of Bristol Residential Networking Service (ResNet) connects rooms in all University owned residences to the University network and the Internet. If you have a computer and sign up with ResNet, you will able to: • Stay in touch with friends and family with email, Skype, MSN Messenger, and Facebook. • Use educational materials, including Blackboard and electronic library resources. • Listen to Internet radio, download music, and watch video online. • All from the convenience of your own room, for a fixed subscription with no phone bills.
