I cannot answer much for NSW but i can for South Australia and Victoria. it really depends on what u are looking for in a beach I would have to say as far as surfing goes i would go for Bells Beach in Victoria (they hold competitions there) Bondi Beach is good but over-populated with people who don’t know proper surfing edicate. South Australia has beaches with less people on them they include Aldinga Beach (which u can drive on), Sellicks Beach and so forth as well as glenelg beach which is probably more popular for visiters. In Victoria I would go for the Torquay/Anglesea area as that is my favourite place (Anglesea has a really nice beach and Torquay has some really cool surf shops) they are also very close to bells beach. Apollo Bay (in Victoria) is another favourite place of mine to go its just a nice seaside town in the Otways.
