no you can buy paint for both kitchen and bathroom which wipes clean, it is good as i use and i have used in my boys bedroom as his young an into writing on walls plus they come in a wide range of colours

There is a type of paint called kitchen and bathroom. It is specifically designed for these rooms as it is moisture resistant and wipes clean easily. The original is made by Dulux but I would imagine most companies now make a version. It is easily available in most DIY stores like Homebase and Wickes.
