What is the best way to position a new product on your website so that it draws attention, doesn get lost in the other information and helps drive sales?
It depends on how you’re going to be driving traffic to the site. If you’re just relying on the people who already visit your Web site anyway, and are hoping to convert some of them into customers, then position your new product prominently on the home page, so that it stands out from everything else. Ideally, remove as many other distractions as possible (including other product promotions). On the other hand, if you’re promoting this more strategically, create a separate page for the new product, with its own sales letter promoting its benefits and features. Eliminate any other distractions – including menu buttons and other links away from the page. And promote it to your existing customers first – through your e-mail newsletter, your client database, a special mail-out to clients, etc. Find out more about creating products.
