The Chinese Medicine Registration Act (CMR Act) is a State law that was passed by the Victorian Parliament in May 2000. The provisions came into operation on 1 January 2002. The Act created a new scheme for regulation of Chinese medicine practitioners who practise acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine, or dispense Chinese herbal medicines in Victoria.
