What is the Clarion Foundations mission?
The mission of The Clarion Foundation is to assure the continued high quality and financial health of both the UCSD and Virtual Clarion workshops, and to provide high-quality educational opportunities for writers of short fiction at the start of their careers.Popular fiction, including but not limited to, speculative fiction, science fiction, fantasy, horror, magic realism and other genres, gives voice to those who explore social and technological change along with deeper considerations concerning the archetypes of human experience. Through the Clarion Workshop, the Foundation offers new writers the opportunity to develop the necessary skills for effectively communicating these new ideas about our society and the larger universe through fiction.
