The Community Standards Bylaw is a new “good neighbour” bylaw that outlines citizens’ responsibilities to keep their property maintained to a minimum acceptable standard. The goal is neighbourhood livability, increased quality of life and a reduction of neighbourhood conflicts.The bylaw updates a number of outdated, inconsistent, and unclear provisions from several old bylaws, consolidating them into one “umbrella” bylaw. The bylaw is written in plain English, making it easy for everyone to understand.
