What is the current situation regarding South African Airways (SAA) landings in Cape Verde?
At the moment SAA continues to land, and we are working to ensure that the flights continue. However, the strategy is not only to keep these stopover flights, but also to be global and to transform Sal Airport into a cargo and passenger hub for the region. In any event, international airlines will have the capacity to fly direct to the USA. There is also a complementary programme to ensure flights through the promotion of South African tourism to Cape Verde. This would render flights more profitable.
