What is the end date for the precession of the equinox?

Precession is the motion of the earth’s axis which slowly describes a circle about every 25,800 years, in the same way that the axis of a spinning top slowly rotates. It doesn’t ‘end’ it keeps on going. You may have read about a cycle of the earth’s precession ‘ending’ on December 21st, 2012. To have an ‘end’ you must have a ‘beginning’ and in a continuous regular cyclical motion you can have a ‘beginning’ wherever you like. Like most of everything else to do with 2012, the notion is meaningless.
