What is the importance of biology to agriculture?
It is pretty simple when we think about it. Biology is a wide field that deals with things from diseases of plants to the study of behavior of various insects. They also deal with reproduction of plants and with mutation in plants. Imagine trying to grow a garden and having your plants die. You have some ideas about how to stop that from happening but there is one problem, you don’t know which one will work. To solve your problem you can only guess at doing one thing or another to resolve the problem. On top of that you don’t really know the most effective way to solve the problem because you don’t know the full intricacies of what is going on. Now take that and put it on a huge scale where the garden is enormous and your livelihood on top of that. Without knowing biology all of your work to succeed with your “garden” will only be guess and check.
