What is the mathematical relationship between diffusion and temperature?
The mathematical equation (I can’t write out the greek here) is found at the link in the reference. Explained simply… diffusion is the movement of something from high concentration to low concentration. When blood moves across the membrane as in hemodialysis, it moves at a certain rate. If the temperature is increased, the molecules move faster therefore increaseing the movement of the molecules across the membrane to make diffusion happen faster. And the same as the temperature decreases, the diffusion rate decreases. Simply mathematically: D = diffusion rate T = temperature D1 / T1 = D2 / T2 Temperature increases, diffusion increases. Temperature decreases, diffusion decreases.
