What trucking companys will hire you even thow you have failed a pre employment drug screen?
I think there is a 30-day “drug counseling” program you can go through, and with that there are a handful of companies that may take their chances. You may want to consult with an attorney who specializes in trucking and transportation, to find out what (if anything) you can do. However, if you’re just starting out in trucking….with NO prior experience, unfortunately you are not going to find any companies that can hire you. If you’d had 10 years of safe driving and *passed* drug tests under your belt as a testament to your character, you’d have more of a chance of pleading the “I made a really, stupid mistake” case, and finding a company who’d hire you as long as you had the 30 day rehabilitation program AND you were subjected to frequent random drug tests for a certain period of time. If this is the case for you, I’d suggest contacting some smaller companies, speaking directly with the owner and pleading your case…being honest and upfront about your mistake. Any good character re
not many at all. Due to the regulations in place, most trucking companies (that are reputable) will have you sign a form at application time that allows them to check with all of your past employers and past applicants(cuz there is another form that you must sign and fill out asking if you have ever failed a pre-employment test, usually within last 3 years) for all your drug related testing, results, etc. From my experience, any trucking company that values its reputation, has completed this checkup on my applications. Quite frankly, if you are doing drugs, don’t try to get a trucking job, we don’t want you out on the road with us, or if you do apply, don’t be stupid enough to fail a preemployment screen. Nuff’ said.
Most would not even think about it. It would be illegal for them to do so. There is a period of time that you will have to wait, sorry can’t remember how long. If you have failed a test you are now listed in a data base some where in the government. If you fail the test and think it is a false positive, there is an appeal process that you can try. The best thing is don’t do drugs.
