coincidentally, we are just finishing reading the book “Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee” by Dee Brown. It is a book that tells the story of the Native Americans often with their own voices. I bought it online in paperback form, about 15 dollars, I think. (An Owl Book, Henry Holt and Company, Publishers) On line, you can get some really good information about different tribes before the westward expansion by typing in the tribe name. For example, Lipan Apache in a simple google search will give you tons of sites. I need to go right now, but I’ll come back with links later.
