The PITO Steering Committee selected five pilot groups from the expressions of interest submitted by BC physicians in August. The selected pilot sites represent a cross-section of BC physicians: urban and rural, GPs and specialists, experience with an existing EMR and not, younger and older, etc. The five initial pilot groups are in Nelson, Powell River, Nanaimo, Fort Langley, and Dawson Creek. The diversity of physicians and geography will ensure that PITO has thoroughly tested all aspects of the program before broad implementation begins.
