What’s a GMO?
A Genetically Modified Organism is an organism (plant) that has had a gene transferred from one plant species to another so that the plant is able to do things that it wouldn’t naturally be able to do e.g Monsanto (designers of Round Up) have introduced a gene into certain crops eg cotton, soyabeans, canola, maize so that the crop can be sprayed with Round Up (very systemic i.e. moves within the plant) without effecting the crop, but instead kills the weeds around the crop. These guys don’t seem to be “aware” that these crops are being fed to humans!
