Whats the difference between the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the Master of Arts in Foreign Languages and Literatures (MAFLL)?
The Dept. of Spanish and Portuguese is one of the three departments that make up MAFLL. The others are the Dept. of French, Italian, and Comparative Literature and the Dept. of Foreign Languages and Linguistics. All grad students in these fields are admitted to the MAFLL Program and their degrees will read Master of Arts in Foreign Languages and Literature with a concentration is a specific field, such as Spanish Literature. All students must take certain MAFLL core seminars, but most of their course work will be in their home department.
