First, Working Group Participant patent policy commitments apply to all the chartered Recommendation Track documents published by the group, including the new set of documents. Second, If there were no disclosures or exclusions associated with the single document prior to the split, there are no other Patent Policy implications. If there were disclosures or exclusions prior to the split, then they are no longer relevant with respect to the “abandoned” document. They may, however, be relevant to one or more of the new documents, as follows: a previous disclosure/exclusion applies to a new document unless, within 30 days of publication of that new document, the party that made the disclosure/exclusion declares that it does not apply.
