Smaller than its sister restaurant further down the street, C&O Cucina is a cozy place but still can get quite crowded. Ask to sit at the bar when the dining room is packed. The bread rolls are just as good as the Trattoria. The staff is very friendly but the entrees are just decent. I mainly come for the rolls though.Cons – gets very crowded

My wife and I went to this place last weekend for the first time. I am usually not a big fan of Middle Eastern food (the places I’ve gone to usually serve the same old stuff, ok taste but not much variety), and we were a bit skeptical. We arrived to the restaurant and found it to be a rather large establishment with only a small number of clients (the location off from Ventura doesn’t help). We went ordered their “Feast for Two” (or something along the lines) and were really surprised. Our lunch started with a very fresh tasting salad (a Fattoush?) with a light yogurt based dressing. This was followed by a plate of different types of Hummus, Tabbouli and Falafel. This plate was so tasty that we could have order it by itself without needing any additional food. The Kebob was served shortly after – beef, lamb and chicken. I was afraid that the Kebob was going to be dry (my experience at other Middle Eastern restaurants), but this was not the case. It was juicy and just perfectly grilled.

This is by far my favorite place to eat Mexican food at on the west coast; at least, my favorite place north of the border. For starters, I’d k1ll for their guacamole recipe. El Tepeyac is the only place I have ever been that had better guacamole than I can make on my own. Their salsas are top notch too; especially the ranchero salsa (I believe) that they put in the Hollenbeck burritos. It’s hard to pick a favorite plate here. Their enchiladas are outstanding because of the red guisada they’re covered in. The shredded beef they put in the beef enchiladas is also always cooked to perfection.Their refried beans are outstanding. The only other restaurant I know where they’re as good is back in Texas. The rice is consistently good too.All of that leads me to their burritos. I’m a Texas boy and we don’t eat burritos, but I gotta recognize game here. The Hollenbeck burritos (especially my favorite, the Hollenbeck de machaca) are really without peers. They’re a combination of my favorit

On a ‘night in’ this is definately the place to get great take out! They will basically deliver a date in a box, including chilled wine! Also, owners are wonderful and welcoming and will give you a discount if you order frequently!

ItÂ’s been a while since we’d dine out in the west L.A. area (Fairfax district that is). It was one of the best nights out and we truly had a great time. It was our first try at Ethiopian and I must say this: Well worth it – and many times over! Located in the short and busy strip of FairfaxÂ’s hip “Little Ethiopia” and encircled by the numerous alike, we chose Messob. The valet was a breeze and the wait was minimal even though the restaurant was jammed packed and busy. The place was well lit; cozy yet spacious. I had the “Siga Wot” (Strips of beef, braised in red pepper sauce with assorted spices, served with Injera) and as usual, I also had the pleasure of indulging the massive plate opposite of me that my girlfriend had ordered – the “Veggie Combination”: a mixture from other Vegan dishes combined consisting of a variety of lentils, collard greens such as spinach and cabbage, and some Tomato fit-fit (a delectable spongy textured tofu-like delicacy). Everything is served up by
