Simply said, “THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN NEW YORK.” Wow. The decor is incredibly beautiful. There are always fresh flowers. The bar is beautiful. The ceilings are high and the colors put you at rest. The service….it is the best in New York City. The food is fantastic. The drinks are terrific. You can dine in the dining room or in the bar area. They have two different menus…depending of where you sit. I like the bar area for lunch and the dining room for dinner.I take my daughter to Gramercy Tavern every year for her birthday because I know it is special. Try it….you will see. I was there last Wednesday for Karaoke for my friends birthday. We had a blast singing Karaoke in the lounge. We had the best homemade infused vokas..YUMMY..the pineapple and the verry berry were delicious. also had the beef sliders, veggie skewers and homemade potatoe chips all delicious. Very surprised to find good food in a bar. Just when we were tired of singing went down to the Village Underground and enjoyed the live music, amazing singers. Loved the old school reggae and disco that the girls sang. also loved how the band mixed the old and the new, mixed rock with the hip-hop. the band was having so much fun on stage that we stayed the entire night – didnt want to miss a thing. This place is a jem. Looking forward to going back soonPros + food, drinks, karaoke. live music downstairs
My friend invited me for dinner on a Friday night, made no reservations but still had a good seat. The waiter was very polite, and attentive. We had salmon, it was very fresh and delicious. The steak was so yummy in my tummy. The ambiance is nice, not too noisy which is great for a great conversation for two people. My friend ordered a red wine and I had a sparkling wine, both wines were very good as well. I will definitely go back there. Definitely bring a date with you to have fabulous food.
A great place to people watch, while waiting between courses… the service was lagging, but to their end they were extremely busy. By far the show stopper of the evening was the filet mignon. Tender, juicy, and done perfectly at medium rare. The salmon was good, but a little over cooked, which surprised me, as the filet was so well done.Definitely worth checking out, but I think I’d be more happy going with a large group next time around.Pros + food, service, ambiance
Much more elegant than the usual Drink Club locations. I was a bit worried, walking through the spooky lower door up into the hyperworld of the club. The City Search reviews complained about snobby service, and snooty attitudes. The worries were unfounded. The staff was great. When I walked in, a smiling maitress d’ showed me to a table for 6… all by myself. She let me sit there for as long as it took for everyone else to show up. Waitresses, all attractive, wearing something that looked like an exotic bathrobe, were quick on the menus, order taking, and keeping up with the smiles. They didn’t fret if we messed up our orders or forgot the names of the exotic cocktails the place is known for. I had a Whiskey Smash… and it did the trick. Everyone else ordered something strange… some good, some cucumber. We had so-so satay, and great “Sloppy Duck.” The portions were small for the price ($15 for 2 Whitecastle size servings of Duck), but carefully prepared. The night cost u
