I recently spent an evening of great music, well-poured drinks, and delicious food at Spazio’s in Sherman Oaks,CA. I was very satisfied with the Stardust Martini as well as the Pistacio Crusted Salmon and the bartender made me feel at home. The music was pleasant and I even recognized some of the songs. I would come back again and again. I was told that Spazio’s will be offering a Happy Hour starting in May. In addition, they were very excited about their upcoming wine tasting evenings. I almost forgot but the desserts at Spazio’s are extraordinary. They offer a “Profiterole” made from scratch and tastes like Heaven. Spazio’s is a gem hidden in San Fernando Valley. Can you say “AMAZING Fish & Chips?” I certainly can after a melange of huge sea scallops, enormous shrimps, flaky black cod and crispy calamari.  Did I mention the onion rings and chips? Delicious, light, perfectly fried and with homemade tartar & cocktail sauces.  Accompanied by a large ice cream scoop sized red cabbage slaw.  Their signature ivy ceramic ware and white picket fence ambiance is a bit of a shock in Beverly Hills, but a welcome change.Our dear friend Bobby took mom and I and at 91 years young his wit is rapier sharp.  Ready with a quick rejoinder and careful observations, he made the experience complete.  Our server, who’s name I never got was a very efficient Scotsman who’s white uniform jeans were tasteful and appropriately showcased his assets.On the downside, its very popularity leads to a loud, bustling enviornment.  We did ask for the music to be turned down for at our table for four, we were nearly inaudible to each other.  From a service standpoint, it was extrod

Went for my hubby’s birthday and sat outside- overall romantic atmosphere and attentative service. The food was excellent in taste, but portions were extremely small. We started with an appetizer, a few martinis and then entrees; however, we were both still hungry when we left (even after finishing 2 desserts). My husband had the rack of lamb (which was pricey) and this must of been the world’s smallest lamb! Only 4 or 5 bones with very little meat on them. Next time we’ll stop at Fatburger beforehand.My only additional comment, I agree about another reviewer mentioning the plastic lawn chairs. Also, a lot of the umbrellas had giant scorch marks on them where the heating lamps had been too close. In fact, one was so bad it looked like it had been on fire at one point. Finally. Providence.We thought long and hard about the tasting menus versus ala carte. Our waiter recommended that we do the 5 course tasting and order the rest ala carte. Win win. A quick note before I get to the food, the décor is really nice. Draped in a simple blue grey palette with high ceilings, it was airy, calm, spacious.Food Breakdown from great to bad (desserts are just ok):- Santa Barbara Salt Prawns – These are amazing! They smell so delectable and the table side presentation was pretty cool. Roasted in kosher salt and rosmary, the prawns shelled in front of you and drizzled in olive oil. It tasted amazingly sweet. Almost like crab flavored lobster. – Foie gras ravioli italian summer truffles, aromatics, parmesan – I love foie gras, infatuated with pasta, and I love love love truffles so technically this dish can’t fail and it didn’t. If you want to know how pricey this place is, take a peak at the menu before you go in. The cheapest chicken is $22 and so forth to $30 for fillet mignon. The interior is the classic vision of what a restaurant should be, with wonderful booths and old furniture, done up walls and mirrors. They give you delicious pickled peppers with the bread. Fillet mignon was small topped with fried onions that were not crisp, sides were a la carte. I ordered the lyonaise potatos, big mistake, it’s just a small portion of boiled potatos with raw onions not worth $10. OVERPRICED FOR THE SMALL PORTIONS. It was deserted at 7:00pm on a Saturday, with some people at the bar. I thought the staff should have been more attentive since we were in an empty restaurant.
