WHICH IS THE TALLEST DAM IN THE WORLD AND WHAT IS ITS HEIGHT?
The Nurek dam on the Vakhsh River in Tajikistan is currently the tallest dam in the world, 300 meters high (about 980 feet). The Jinping dam in the People’s Republic of China (“China”) on the Yalong Jiang is currently under construction and is projected to be around the same height. However, as I said, it is under construction, so its final height is unknown. Incidentally, the tallest dam does not mean largest dam, or even the dam that produces the most electricity. Link below gives a long list of tall dams arranged by height.
