Who decides what type Funeral Liturgy is appropriate?
Typically the family of the deceased, taking into consideration both the lived faith of the deceased and their own religious circumstances, make this decision in collaboration with the pastor or parochial minister of the parish of the deceased. One must always remember that the Order of Christian Funerals is intended not only to give back the deceased to God but to support the relatives and friends though the loss.
