Who pays for bridesmaid dresses and shoes?
It is different in Great Britain. In America, typically the bridesmaids pay for their shoes and dress. The bride SHOULD (although unfortunately they don’t always) cover the cost of hair, makeup, nails, etc. Required jewelry is usually given as a gift to the bridesmaids. In Great Britain I was told that the bride covers the cost of the dress and shoes. I’m not sure about the other specifics. I am positive that it is different in Great Britain as my best friend is English and currently living in Cardiff. We just discussed the differences the other day, so we knew how to plan for each other’s weddings. Hope this helps!
