Why all the fuss over Ultra-Wideband (UWB)?
Radio spectrum is in very short supply (“they ain’t making any more”). Wireless industry leaders paid $10 Billion per MegaHertz (MHz) in recent FCC narrowband spectrum auctions. The FCC approved 7000 MHz for unlicensed use in February 2002 (yes, one might crudely extrapolate $70 Trillion market value!).
