Why are pavers set on concrete rather than crushed stone/RCA?

We at Truly’s Contracting only set our pavers on solid concrete for many reasons. First, solid concrete is more durable than crushed concrete/RCA. Additionally, if for some reason a pipe (leading to a pool) bursts, we can cut out a section of the concrete above the pipe, have the pipe mended, and repour the concrete. The pavers on top of the concrete will not look affected after they are reinstalled. If crushed concrete/RCA was used, it would be nearly impossible to compact new crushed concrete/RCA back to its original location. Finally, by setting the pavers on solid concrete we are able to provide our customers with a written 5 year guarantee against the settlement of his or her pavers. A patio set on solid concrete is less likely to settle as opposed to a patio set on crushed concrete/RCA.
