Why did Humana create and enhance the consumer Web Tools?
To combat increasing health care costs, consumers and employers are looking to the health care industry for information that helps plan members make informed decisions. In the health benefits industry, access to this data is called “transparency.” Humana has responded by enhancing our “Compare Hospitals” tool and adding a “Physician Profile” to the online provider directory. Our Website also contains resources such as a health encyclopedia and links to nationally recognized, evidence-based information from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and others. These tools are among the many resources Humana provides – online and elsewhere – to help members make health care choices with confidence.
