Why did the NRC issue a letter to Entergy Nuclear notifying them that the proposed amendment to allow a power uprate at Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station was incomplete?
Several areas in Entergy’s initial application and subsequent submittals required additional information to allow us to complete the detailed review of the application. Some of the areas for which insufficient information was provided include: steam dryer integrity, flood protection equipment, internally generated missiles, and ultimate heat sink. Entergy submitted this additional information at the end of January 2004. We performed an acceptance review of this information and determined that Entergy has provided the necessary information such that the detailed review can be expected to be completed within a 12-month review schedule.
