Why does my 1999 Toyota Corolla blow white smoke from the tail pipe and now from under the hood?
I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla that originally stared blowing white smoke when the car was on for more than 30 minutes. Now it seems to be coming from underneath the hood. Could this be the engine? Someone told me it had to do with underneath the valve gasket cover being cleaned. I have also heard that its possible the engine is cracked. Toyotas are ususally good for 200,000 plus miles. Mine has only 160,000. Please tell me what the problem could be. Thanks A: White smoke can and DOES come from coolant burn off in the oil due to a leaking or blown head gasket, cracked head etc.
