Why does someone from Canada have a site about Australian TV?
When I started the site in1998 there was not much available on the web for Australian TV shows and as a fan of the genre who had put together a small collection of episode guides and other information for my own personal reference purposes, I decided to put my information online and share it with the world. My original intent was to target other Canadian fans of the various Australian series airing in Canada at the time but it soon became clear my primary audience was in Australia itself. Since then, as the flow of Australian series to Canadian tv screens has slowed from what it was after the cable channel boom of the mid-90s, I’ve taken a greater interest in the “behind-the-screen” aspects of the site and use the Australian TV subject as an excuse for having a presence on the internet and exploring the various aspects of site creation.
