Why does the MAX+PLUS® II software installation fail in Windows XP?

Solution The MAX+PLUS II software may fail to install on a computer running Windows XP if the IBM Personal Communications software is running. To find out if the IBM Personal Communications software is running, look for a process named PCS_AGNT.EXE in the Processes tab of the Windows Task Manager. If it is listed, end the task and start the MAX+PLUS II software installation again.
